Growing together with Vietnam

Growing together with Vietnam

Fifteen years of growth in Vietnam has laid the groundwork for RMIT Vietnam’s ongoing contribution to the community.

RMIT Vietnam was founded in 2001 following an invitation by the Vietnamese government to establish the country’s first international university.

Commencing with English training and IT degree programs in Ho Chi Minh City, RMIT Vietnam has since expanded its program offering to include a range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs in the areas of business, technology and creativity.

The upcoming launch of the University’s PhD program will be another significant milestone, marking the introduction of an internationally-recognised PhD program in which HDR (Higher Degrees by Research) students are registered, supervised, and managed in country.

From a small downtown campus, RMIT Vietnam moved to a greenfield site in Saigon South in 2004. Further expansion has since added student accommodations, a Recreation and Events Complex, and Academic Building 2. And through the recent launch of the Centre of Digital Excellence (CODE), RMIT Vietnam demonstrates its strong commitment to sharing expertise in digital learning and teaching with Vietnam’s education community, thus realising the ambitious goal of making a significant contribution to the building of educational capacity in Vietnam.

As RMIT Vietnam celebrates its 15th anniversary on 21 September 2016, it looks forward to growing together with Vietnam for years to come.
