Before joining RMIT, Jo Lam hadn't yet figured out what she was truly passionate about. But in an environment that encouraged curiosity, creativity and even mistakes, she found her voice, and her strength.
Right after graduating, Jo launched her own brands, Jamlos and Rustea. She credits RMIT for giving her not just the knowledge, but the mindset of innovation and the courage to take action.
"Maybe that's why I feel such a special connection to the university," she shares. That's also why Jo continues to give back as a mentor, guest lecturer and industry partner: always saying yes when invited to support RMIT students. One moment still sticks with her: a shy intern at her agency had a bold idea, and it was chosen for a campaign. "I saw my younger self in her: full of ideas, just waiting for someone to believe in her," Jo says. For Jo, legacy isn't just about success. It’s about trust, creativity and passing on the spirit of daring to think and do. And now, she's helping the next generation build theirs.
