Virtual International Festival 2021

About the festival

International Festival 2021 is a series of virtual events hosted by RMIT Vietnam Student Life to celebrate the diversity including nationalities, cultures, and genders at RMIT Vietnam, to create a playground for RMIT-ers to discover and learn more interesting things around the world.

The festival is open for all RMIT students and alumni and is hosted across online platforms including Microsoft Teams, Teams Webinar and Gather Town.

Travelling Photo Contest

By joining this contest, participants can share their favourite photos from any travelling experience. A single photo or an album can be submitted. The photo/album that receives the greatest number of engagements on Facebook will win and winners will receive special prizes.

Cultural Trivia

  • Date: 23, 24, 30 November & 1 December 2021
  • Time: 11.30am – 12pm
  • Platform: Microsoft Teams

Join Cultural Trivia on Microsoft Teams to challenge your knowledge about international culture, geography, movie & music, and food across the 4 days. Each day will cover a different topic, consisting of 25 – 30 questions. The top 5 winners of each day will receive memorable gifts.

Int'l Trendy Food Recipe

This is a livestream session where the audiences can watch how to cook signature foods from other countries such as Korean Tteokbokki, Biryani and Dom Pedro. New and hot trendy food recipes on social media will also be introduced throughout the livestream.

After the session, the audience can try to make the dishes introduced and instructed in the show at home, then submit a short video (maximum 5 minutes) to introduce it, share their thoughts or any experience when cooking. The organizers will select the best productions with good decoration, clear descriptions, and meaningful sharing about their dishes.

Unity in Diversity Forum

Home Kitchen Show

This is a cooking workshop conducted by an invited chef, with well-known dishes of countries and available ingredients at home for you to easily learn from and make your own. 

Similar to the Int'l Trendy Food Recipes, participants can join a contest after the online workshop where they will try to make the dishes introduced and instructed in the show at home, then submit a short video (maximum 5 minutes) to introduce it, share their thoughts or any experience when cooking. The organizers will select the best productions with good decoration, clear descriptions, and meaningful sharing about their dishes.

Virtual Cultural Fair

    • 2 December 2021: 9am - 12pm and 2pm - 5pm
    • 4 December 2021: 9am - 12pm and 2pm - 5pm
  • Platform: Gather Town

Virtual Cultural Fair is a place where you can find a lot of information and activities related to cultures and people around the world. The virtual fair will be taken place on the familiar Gather Town platform. There will be different rooms divided by different continents in Gather Town. Each continent will have one specific theme. 

When visiting the fair, participants will join in a virtual journey, exploring different cultures and countries by discovering informative objects, stories and playing mini-games. Participants will have a chance to receive many exclusive gifts by completing mini-challenges at each continent as well as big prizes when completing the whole journey.

Virtual Concert

You will be joining online performances from RMIT Music clubs and Dance clubs and there will be lucky gifts and prizes for audiences who have correct answers during the engagement session.
