For the past two months a dedicated group of RMIT Vietnam students have been training to learn the game of "Touch Rugby" so they could enter a tournament organised by the Saigon Rugby Club. The event was last Saturday and we are very proud to announce that the RMIT Vietnam Rhinos are the undefeated winners of the "Vietnamese Touch Rugby Champions Trophy". Against tough opposition from Al Fresco's, The ABC International School, and HBP Project Management, the team was victorious in the final against the side from Al Frescos, winning by one try in extra time.
As well as this, the team won the trophy for "Best New Talent", and Pham Ngoc Duan took out the men's sprint trophy. The trophies will be on display at the Sports Desk until the next tournament in November. RMIT Vietnam students (Saigon South campus) interested in joining the Rhinos club can come along to Semester Two Club Day on 25 June 2009 and sign up, or come along to training on Thursday afternoons at 4:30pm.
Congratulations to the boys and girls of the RMIT Vietnam Rhinos, and we hope you can repeat your victory at the next tournament in November
