Students

Off-Campus

If you are not on campus and test positive for COVID-19 (F0), please notify RMIT immediately to get support to review your campus access history and identify your close contacts.

  • Step 1: Email contact.tracing@rmit.edu.vn. You will get detailed instruction to declare close contacts and self-isolate 

  • Step 2: Contact Student Connect if require academic and enrolment support or would like help making an online appointment with other student services. You can either:
    • Visit Student Connect Online Portal and fill in the information in the tab COVID Enquiries 
    • Or make a phone call to 02837761306 if you are at Saigon South Campus or 02437245930 if you are at Hanoi City campus
  • After these steps above, please notify your lecturers

On-Campus

If you are on campus and suspect that you’re COVID-19 positive with symptoms such as cough, fever, shortness of breath, sore throat, please take the following actions immediately:

  • Step 1: Call ISOS hotline at your campus: Hanoi - 024 3201 2601 and Saigon South: 028 3776 1360. Do not go in person to the on-campus Health Centres.
  • Step 2: You will get instructed from ISOS to go to the RMIT COVID-19 testing site for a free quick test. 
    • SGS campus testing site is in Parking lot 2
    • Hanoi City campus testing site is in Level 14 
  • Step 3: At the testing site, RMIT Contact Tracing team will help you to declare your close contacts 
  • Step 4: When you finish your quick test at the testing site, you will receive more information from RMIT Contact Tracing team about your case and what’s next.
  • Step 5: If you test positive and require academic and enrolment support or would like help making an online appointment with other student services, please contact Student Connect. You can either: 
    • Visit Student Connect Online Portal and fill in the information on the tab COVID Enquiries

  • After these steps above, please notify your lecturers 

According to the Ministry of Health, F1 close contact is who communicate face-to-face to an F0 within 2 metres in more than 15 minutes.  

Off-Campus

If you are off campus and have been identified as an F1 close contact of an F0 case, take the following actions immediately:

  • Step 1: Email RMIT Contact Tracing team at contact.tracing@rmit.edu.vn to declare you are F1 and get verification of your F1 status

  • Step 2: When you are confirmed as an F1, RMIT Contact Tracing team will provide you a guidance to get a quick test at a Family Medical Practice centre which is closest to you. The test fees are covered by RMIT University. You will also receive instruction for self-isolation and requirement to return to campus. 

On-Campus

If you are on campus and suspect that you have closely contacted an F0 case, please take the following actions immediately:

  • Step 1: Call RMIT Contact Tracing team at 02837761493 or email contact.tracing@rmit.edu.vn to receive instructions to verify your F1 status.
  • Step 2: RMIT Contact Tracing team will help you to arrange a free quick test at COVID-19 testing site:  
    • SGS campus testing site is in Parking lot 2
    • Hanoi City campus testing site is in Level 14
  • When you finish your quick test at the testing site, you will receive more information from RMIT Contact Tracing team about your case and what’s next. 

For F2 cases, you do not need to notify RMIT University. 

Please contact Student Connect via the Online Portal or phone if you have any question. 

Staff

If you are a lecturer and test positive, please follow F0 protocol for staff. No need to inform your students. Contact tracing team will handle such communications.

BECOMING F0 WHILST ON CAMPUS:

If you have COVID-19 symptoms (cough, fever, shortness of breath, sore throat) whilst on campus and think you might be positive for COVID-19 (F0) take the following actions immediately:

  • Step 1 – Call ISOS by phone (Hanoi: 024 3201 2601, Saigon: 028 3776 1360) and follow their instructions regarding testing procedures and any healthcare support. Do not go in person to the on-campus Health Centres.
  • Step 2 – Go to the RMIT COVID-19 testing site for a free quick test. Testing sites are in Parking lot 2 on the Saigon South and Level 14 on the Hanoi City Campus.
  • Step 3 – Be prepared to identify your close contacts at the testing site as Contact Tracing team will contact you for further details. 
  • Step 4 – Follow the instructions of contact tracing team after the testing for next steps about your case management, isolation, and your eligibility to return to campus.
  • Step 5 – Self-quarantine at home for 10 days (if you're in HCMC) or 14 days (if you're in Hanoi or Danang) or follow centralised quarantine as per advice from local health center, moving to working online.
  • Step 6 – Upon completion of self-quarantine or centralised quarantine period of 10-day (if you're in HCMC) or 14-day (if you're in Hanoi or Danang) and prior to your return to campus, contact Contact Tracing team (contact.tracing@rmit.edu.vn) for verification of your return.

 

BECOMING F0 WHILST OFF CAMPUS:

If you test positive for COVID-19 (F0) but are currently off campus, notify RMIT immediately so we can review your campus access history and identify your close contacts.

  • Step 1 – Email both contact tracing team (contact.tracing@rmit.edu.vn) and  your line manager to declare you are F0. The contact tracing team will provide you with detailed instructions to guide you.
  • Step 2 – Report your case to local health center and/or building management where you are living.
  • Step 3 - Self-quarantine at home for 10 days (if you're in HCMC) or 14 days (if you're in Hanoi or Danang) or follow centralised quarantine as per advice from local health center, moving to working online.
  • Step 4-  Upon completion of self-quarantine or centralised quarantine period of 10-day (if you're in HCMC) or 14-day (if you're in Hanoi or Danang) and prior to your return to campus, contact Contact Tracing  team (contact.tracing@rmit.edu.vn) for verification of your return.

According to current Ministry of Health guidelines, a close contact is defined in-person communication within 2 metres for longer than 15 minutes.

If you think you are an F1 close contact of an F0 case, take the following actions immediately:

  • Step 1 – Contact your line manager, Contact Tracing team via email contact.tracing@rmit.edu.vn) or via hotline +84 28 3776 1493 to declare you are F1. Contact Tracing team wil contact you and verify again to re-confirm your F1 status.
  • Step 2 – If you are on campus, Contact Tracing team (contact.tracing@rmit.edu.vn) will arrange a Rapid Test immediately with onsite ISOS nurse.  If you are not on campus, Contact Tracing team will coordinate a Rapid Test at your nearest Family Medical Practice (cost covered by RMIT) for you as soon as possible.
  • Step 3 – Because of the quick changing of regulations at different locations at different point of time, please follow the instructions of the Contact Tracing team for next steps about your case management and/or isolation requirements.  Staff is fully responsible to get approval from their line manager to arrange WFH if they need to self-isolate at home.
  • Step 4 -  Upon completion of self-isolation or centralised quarantine period and prior to your return to campus, contact Contact Tracing  team (contact.tracing@rmit.edu.vn) for verification/further instruction of your return.

If you are identified as F2 due to exposure while on campus or off campus:

  • No requirement to notify Contact Tracing team

Lecturers: What to do if a student reports their F status to you

If a student reports their F status to you whilst ON CAMPUS:

SCENARIO 

ACTION REQUIRED 

A student notifies you that they have tested positive F0 on campus
  • Step 1: Call contact tracing hotline at +84 28 3776 1493   
  • Step 2: Stop class and send class to onsite test locations to get tested and isolate pending further advice
  • Step 3: Contact Property Services to request to sanitise class
  • Step 4: Email contact.tracing@rmit.edu.vn list of students in class for further monitoring of negative F1 cases. Do not ask all other students to email to Contact Tracing team separately.  
  • NOTE: All further communications with staff and students will be managed by the Contact tracing team   
A student reports they have been identified as F1
  • Direct them to email contact.tracing@rmit.edu.vn   
  • Class can continue  
A student advises that they have been identified as F2
  • No requirement to notify Contact Tracing team 
  • Student only needs to isolate if they have symptoms 
  • No impact on the rest of the class 

If a student reports their F status to you whilst OFF CAMPUS:

  • Step 1: Direct F0 student to contact Contact Tracing team and inform contact.tracing@rmit.edu.vn at the same time  
  • Step 2: Email contact.tracing@rmit.edu.vn list of students in class for further monitoring of negative F1 cases. Do not ask all other students to email to Contact Tracing team separately. 
  • NOTE: All further communications with staff and students will be managed by the Contact tracing team   

A student reports they have been identified as F1

A student advises that they have been identified as F2  

  • No requirement to notify Contact Tracing team   
  • Student only needs to isolate if they have symptoms 
  • No impact on the rest of the class
