Hello everybody, I'm Rick Bennett.
I'm the executive dean for academic and students at RMIT University here in Vietnam. Many of you already know me but for those who don't, what I want to do is explain to you what we're trying to do with this new online portal.
Over the last couple of months, especially due to the COVID-19 crisis, we've obviously put many many of our courses, in fact, all our courses, online and delivered them to our students in the same way that many other institutions have done as well.
But our intention for building this portal or this centre of resources is for people to do with anything to do with online education, is to build on what RMIT has been doing for many many years in this area, and we've got some great experts in RMIT Vietnam but also in Australia - and we'll be slowly putting these resources together into a really great collective pool where everybody else can access these as well.
So that's our rationale. We believe that we've made some great strides forward in online delivery, or what we call digitally enhanced learning but in terms of we want to make this accessible to many other people but include resources from other people as well. So we've divided the website up into certain areas.
First of all, there's the Rationale area, and the Rationale area deals with why do we do online education and why do we do blended learning in the first place- and there's a whole series of videos and a whole series of resources that we build over time to describe those kinds of reasons.
The second area is called Technology, and that's pretty obvious. It answers many many questions about how to use certain technologies at RMIT.
In Vietnam, we use the technology Canvas, and so there's many tips about what features are in Canvas and how best to use them. But apart from that, there's also many many other things to do with technology and how to use it.

And then the third area is Pedagogy. It's like all about the learning and teaching aspects of assessment aspects about the best way to deliver about message boards and chat rooms and things like that. So many many resources again in terms of documents and in terms of videos. And then what we aim to do is we aim to make this available to our staff and then everybody else who'd like to look in and try and find and access these. And beyond that, we want to make this a two-way street so it's not just us giving information to other people and our staff, but it's linking to all the wonderful information that you that is out there from various institutions and individuals. So it's going to be a gathering of resources over time.
We've started it off um with a select bunch of resources in there, but over time we want this to build and build and build into a really good catalogue and sort of portal of help and advice to many people regarding what we call digitally enhanced learning.
So I hope you find this useful, and please subscribe to it and we're going to be releasing new resources sort of very very regularly, and please contact us and point us in the direction of any other resources that you think we should include on this site.
I hope you enjoy it, I hope it's very useful so thanks very much
