Emerging Leaders Project

Overview

Emerging Leaders Project (ELP) is a leadership community project designed for 1st and 2nd-year students, with collaboration between RMIT and NGOs to develop leadership skills, while at the same time, raising awareness on social issues. Participating in this project, students will be assigned to a team of 5-7 members, led by a senior student leader and work on a one-week project, finishing with a showcase for the entire RMIT community.

Purposes

  • Develop leadership, teamwork and creativity for the next generation of RMIT student leaders 

  • Provide training for students on a social issue

  • Get student insights on a topic that contributes to RMIT future strategy

  • Foster positive student campus experience  

  • Facilitate student’s smooth transition to university life

Theme

This year, the theme Diversity and Inclusion was chosen as the main field of study for the Emerging Leaders Project. Building a culture of inclusion and diversity for staff and students is one of RMIT’s values. We aim to build a more inclusive environment on campus and in the community, improve public attitudes towards gender equality, accessibility, and cultural diversity; reduce discrimination as well as increase people's confidence in life.

Awards

ELP Showcase Champion Award

Value: 5,000,000 VND to the Champion of Emerging Leaders Showcase - for creating the best showcase and delivering a meaningful message to the audience.

ELP Social Media Engagement Award

Value: 1,500,000 VND - for the team with the most engagement in social media, reaching and influencing as many people on social media as possible 

ELP People’ Choice Award

Value: 1,500,000 VND - for the team with the most votes by the participants at the showcase 

Emerging Leaders Project Certificate

by RMIT University Vietnam for all participants

50 excellent emerging leaders will be selected to join the Emerging Leaders Project 2022 in Saigon South Campus!
