Vice-Chancellor's Awards

The Vice-Chancellor’s Awards will be awarded to two outstanding graduates from RMIT Vietnam (one from each campus) who have achieved excellent academic records and made distinguished contributions through service to the University community and to society during their time at RMIT Vietnam.

Award winners will be formally honoured at the 2024 graduation ceremonies where they will be presented with a commemorative plaque and deliver a valedictory speech.

Applications for the Award open from Thursday, 18 January 2024 until 5pm (GMT+7), Thursday, 15 February 2024.

1. Eligibility

To be eligible for applying for the Vice-Chancellor’s Award, you must:

  • complete your undergraduate program at RMIT Vietnam in Semester 1, 2 or 3 of 2023.
  • appear to be on track to qualify for the RMIT Vietnam Graduation in April 2024.
  • qualify to receive your undergraduate degree with Distinction or equivalent (cumulative GPA of 3.0 and above).
  • clearly demonstrate a distinguished contribution to the University and social communities.
  • register to attend the graduation ceremony by the deadline.

2. Application requirements

  • A personal statement (maximum 500 words) outlining why the applicant is a suitable candidate for the award;
  • A video of no more than two minutes in English expressing what makes you stand out as a deserving candidate for this award;
  • Three recommendation letters, one from each of the following: a social organisation, RMIT University organisation or club, and a lecturer;
  • Evidence/Portfolio demonstrating applicant’s contribution to society and service to the RMIT Vietnam community.

*Note: All documents must be in English and be combined in one file in .pdf format.

3. Selection criteria

The selection process comprises of screening, shortlisting and final ranking. Applicants are assessed on merit according to the selection criteria, taking into account the following:

  • contribution to and impact on the RMIT University community;
  • evidence of social responsibility contribution and initiatives;
  • academic achievement at RMIT Vietnam.
