All students at RMIT Vietnam complete an internship (a practical placement in the workforce) during their studies, tailored to the needs of the specialist degree program in which they are enrolled.
This helps reduce the time needed for new university graduate employees to add value to their organisations.
During the internship students are enrolled into specific industry-based courses that integrate the student’s theoretical knowledge with workplace experience. Students take on a range of projects that employers can help identify, while RMIT Vietnam provides close academic supervision. This gives a richer educational experience and important skills making students more work-ready upon graduation.
These internships have proven highly beneficial for many companies because they are able to use the experience as a “trial run” for RMIT Vietnam students for possible employment later.
Most students complete their internship in their final semester of their degree program and are therefore able to make a smooth transition into permanent, full-time employment.
Approximately 90% of RMIT Vietnam interns are offered full-time employment by their internship companies.
RMIT Vietnam operates three semesters per calendar year. These semesters begin every February, June and October, and students are available for a one semester (approximately 12-15 weeks, depending on the program) internship during each period. Currently, the following undergraduate degree programs offer internship opportunities:
Bachelor of Commerce Bachelor of Design Bachelor of Information Technology Bachelor of Business (Business Information Systems) Bachelor of Business (Accountancy) Bachelor of Communication (Professional Communication)
RMIT Vietnam’s Centre for Work, Careers and Lifelong Learning (WCLL) organises student internships. To post an internship position, please download the position description form (doc 68.5 KB).
