How do I go about developing an idea for a Work-Integrated Project in Vietnam?
Contact Sarah Cunnian (sarah.cunnian@rmit.edu.vn) of the External Relations Unit (Vietnam) or Julie Roberts (julie.d.roberts@rmit.edu.au) in the Learning and Teaching Development Unit (Melbourne), or
Both Julie and Sarah are working on developing WIL opportunities in Vietnam and can advise on existing relationships with industry partners, as well as being able to assist you develop relationships with new partners.
Can I deal directly with my existing industry partner in Vietnam to establish WIL projects?
LTU (Melbourne) and External Relations Unit (Vietnam) need to coordinate all WIL activity in Vietnam in order to ensure that projects correctly comply, firstly, with the WIL policy and secondly, the terms and conditions of RMIT’s Vietnam license. LTU and WCLL are set up to assist you with all administrative, logistical and pedagogical needs your project might require. We can make life a whole lot easier for you! We do not wish to intrude upon any relationships you may have established, but we do ask that you inform us, and them, of the role of WCLL.
Are there constraints on the type of projects able to be undertaken in Vietnam?
Yes, there are. RMIT’s license in Vietnam encompasses Science and Engineering, Technology, Economics and Foreign Languages. Some activities outside of the scope of these discipline areas are in direct contravention of our license. We are a guest organisation in Vietnam and we need to be mindful of our host country’s requirements and restrictions. Therefore, it is important that you communicate with either Julie Roberts (julie.d.roberts@rmit.edu.au) at LTU or Sarah Cunnian (sarah.cunnian@rmit.edu.vn) at External Relations at early stages of developing your project idea.
What resources are available to support my WIL project?
We are able to provide support at all levels of development, from pedagogical issues and logistics through to matters of organisation of travel and accommodation.
What resources are available for me to access in Vietnam?
