As Head of School of Business & Management (SBM), Associate Professor Nkhoma’s primary responsibilities are to ensure a consistently high-quality, transformative experience for all SBM students, staff members and industry partners, and to continue the School’s positive impact on Vietnam and the Southeast Asia region.
Before being appointed Head of School, Associate Professor Nkhoma served as Head of Department (Management, Business IT, Logistics and Law) from 2012 to 2016. During this time, he has made a significant impact in implementing innovative teaching approaches, introducing new needs-responsive course offerings, and developing and hosting several well-received academic conferences.
Associate Professor Nkhoma began his academic career as a lecturer at the University of East London, and has since held teaching, research and leadership appointments at Al Ghurair University and University of Dubai in the United Arab Emirates, as well as at RMIT Vietnam.
In nearly a decade of teaching, he has facilitated student learning in a wide range of subjects at postgraduate and undergraduate levels, consistently earning positive reviews from students.
Associate Professor Nkhoma is a respected academic in the areas of commerce and management. His work has appeared in academic journals in Australia, Germany, UAE, Malaysia, Vietnam, South Africa, the UK, and the US.
He has a successful track record of securing research funding including three RMIT University Program Development grants and five RMIT University research grants – totalling over $300,000. He has also supported junior academics in their efforts to secure grant funding.
