With "a mind for business and a heart for the world", RMIT Vietnam alumna Nguyen Hai Ly found her own way to discover new possibilities and live out her dreams.
Nguyen Hai Ly (Bachelor of Business, Accountancy) had always dreamed of studying medicine in the US. Unfortunately, her mother's illness prevented her from leaving her family, the most important thing in her life, behind. Ly decided to study at RMIT Vietnam in Hanoi so she could take care of her mother.
Not only did Ly excel at her studies, she was also active in extracurricular activities at school, one of them being the President of a student club called Student in Free Enterprise (SIFE). Her team won first place in the SIFE Vietnam National Competition and competed at the SIFE World Cup in Washington D.C. in 2012.
Ly received the President's Award for being the most outstanding graduate of the year because of her academic excellence and community service. Upon graduation, Ly was selected for the Management Trainee Program at Unilever Vietnam and started working in Ho Chi Minh City in late 2012.
Although she did not end up studying medicine, Ly discovered new possibilities. At the same time, she was able to stay side by side with her mother, whose health has since improved. At RMIT Vietnam, Ly found the key to UNLOCK THE POSSIBILITIES.
