1Is RMIT Vietnam degree internationally recognised?
 
RMIT International University Vietnam delivers internationally-recognized Australian degrees in Vietnam. All degrees are recognized by the Vietnamese Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) and are audited by the Australian Universities Quality Agency. The University degrees are awarded by RMIT University in Australia and are quality assured through the strict moderation requirements of RMIT Melbourne.  

2 - What are undergraduate and postgraduate degree programs available at RMIT Vietnam?

Higher Education Diploma

Minimum admission requirements to the RMIT Vietnam Higher Education Diploma is successful completion of Year 12 (or equivalent). In addition, students must have an IELTS score of 5.5 (minimum 5.0 in each band) or a TOEFL score of 530 (TWE 3.5+). Students can also complete the RMIT Vietnam Upper-intermediate English course (level 5) to meet the English language requirements. 

Undergraduate Program 

Usual admission requirements to the undergraduate degree programs include completion of Year 12 (or equivalent) with an IELTS score of 6.5 (minimum 6.0 in each band) or a TOEFL score of 580 (TWE 4.5+). Students can also complete the RMIT Vietnam Advanced English course (level 6.2) to meet the English language requirements. Offers will based on academic merit. Entrance pathways will be discussed with individual applicants at the time of application. 


Yes, providing they meet the academic entry level, all students can commence their English studies with RMIT Vietnam on a pathway to enter the degree program.


RMIT Vietnam offers an English language training program custom designed to prepare students for academic study in an English speaking environment. It comprises two modules of General English, two Academic English modules and an IELTS Preparation course. The RMIT placement test will indicate the correct entry level for student. 

Successful completion of Academic English courses meets the English requirements for entry to RMIT University academic programs. This means students who have successfully completed the Upper Intermediate (Level 5) have adequate English language skills to enter the Diploma programs and students who have successfully completed Advanced 2 (Level 6.2) have direct entry to Bachelor and Masters Programs. A pass of RMIT Vietnam's English course level 5 or level 6.2 can gain students have an entry to a relevant program at RMIT Vietnam without having to sit IELTS or TOEFL tests.

5 - How long does it take to complete a degree program at RMIT Vietnam?

RMIT Vietnam has three semesters per calendar year and not two semesters as offered by most universities. This means that students can achieve their degree faster than if they were to study in Melbourne.  The degree programs at RMIT Vietnam are the same as a three or four year program in Australia, but in Vietnam it only takes two to three years to complete.

 

6 - When can I submit application to study at RMIT Vietnam?

 

Applications are accepted throughout the year; however there are cut-off dates for semester intakes two months in advance. RMIT Vietnam has three semesters per calendar year with intakes planned for each semester (subject to demand): February, June and October are the semester starting dates, with the application deadline two months prior to commencement of semester. Applicants should fill in the application form which can be downloaded from the website or obtained from our Student Recruitment Staff.  Application forms should be submitted with relevant documents and photos as indicated in the form.

 

Offers will be based on academic merit and English proficiency. Students who do not receive an offer for the initial intake may be considered for the subsequent intakes. Detailed entry requirements are listed for each program.

 

7 - Does RMIT Vietnam offer scholarships to students?

 

RMIT Vietnam has a scholarship scheme for undergraduate students every year. Please visit the Scholarship section in the website for more details.

- How can RMIT Vietnam students go to Melbourne to study?

 

RMIT International University Vietnam students have automatic transfer to RMIT degree programs in Melbourne. Assistance with the application process is available for students who wish to transfer to Melbourne.

 

Students are also able to study for one semester at RMIT Melbourne as a part of a Student Exchange Program. A student exchange is possible after two semesters of study at RMIT Vietnam. A credit average is required and student visa requirements for Australia must also be met.

 

9 - Where can RMIT Vietnam students continue to study after graduation?

 

Many RMIT Vietnam graduates have furthered their education by studying Masters programs in prestigious universities in Australia, America and Japan.  A range of Masters programs is available at RMIT University in Australia. (see RMIT website at www.rmit.edu.au)

 

10 - What are employment opportunities for graduates?

 

RMIT Vietnam delivers degrees which are relevant to business and industry in Vietnam and throughout the region. The degree programs at RMIT Vietnam develop essential skills in students such as critical thinking, problem-solving, project management and communication.
