Eligibility for transferring to RMIT Melbourne

Transferring to RMIT Melbourne as an RMIT Vietnam student helps you to bridge the gap between local and international study environments. 

If you have already proven your study capacity by successfully completing courses at RMIT in Vietnam, you will also benefit from simpler application requirements and processes for transferring to Melbourne.

Note: Transfer students from RMIT Vietnam are waived with AU$100 application fee.

English program

Students who transfer to RMIT Melbourne after successfully completing English for University program at RMIT Vietnam are required to:

  • have achieved a minimum GPA in year 12 of 6.0 for a Diploma program and 8.0 for a Bachelor’s program at RMIT Melbourne;
  • have successfully completed Upper Intermediate (level 4) for a Diploma program and Advanced (level 6) for a Bachelor’s program at RMIT Melbourne;

UniSTART

UniSTART students who would like to transfer to RMIT Melbourne are required to:

  • have successfully completed the UniSTART program;
  • achieved the required GPA - depending on programs (further details in the “Undergraduate” section below).

Undergraduate

RMIT Vietnam current students can apply to transfer to RMIT Melbourne to study and complete your undergraduate program. 

Please be aware that the number of credits transferred might be affected if you transfer to a different program other than your previous study at RMIT Vietnam.

You are required to:

  • be currently enrolled in an RMIT Vietnam Bachelor’s program;
  • have successfully completed at least 36 credit points (equivalent to one semester at RMIT Vietnam at the time of applying) with no double fail in one course;
  • have at least three courses remaining (equivalent to 36 credit points) in the degree programs;
  • meet the GPA requirements by programs.

This is not a 3-year program at RMIT Melbourne but students follow the below pathway:

Associate Degree in Fashion and Textile Merchandising (2 years) + Bachelor of Fashion (Merchandise Management) (1 year)

Completed 16 courses or more (equivalent to 2 years of study) at RMIT Vietnam: 2.0 or above

Bachelor of Fashion (Merchandise Management)

Completed fewer than 16 courses at RMIT Vietnam: 1.0 or above

Associate Degree in Fashion and Textile Merchandising + Bachelor of Fashion (Merchandise Management)

UniSTART / Bachelor of Communication (Professional Communication)

1.0 or above

Bachelor of Communication (Professional Communication)

UniSTART / Bachelor Of Engineering (Electrical & Electronic Engineering) (Honours)

Postgraduate

RMIT Vietnam current Master students or current Graduate Certificate students can apply to transfer and complete your degree at RMIT Melbourne.
Mode of study at RMIT Melbourne: full-time.

Current RMIT Vietnam Master's students are required to:

  • have successfully completed at least 36 credits ( equivalent to one semester) with GPA of 1.0 or above,  and no double fail in one course, at the time of applying for transfer

Possible programs to transfer are:

Current RMIT Vietnam Graduate Certificate students are required to: 

  • have successfully completed your Graduate Certificate program with a GPA of 1.0 or above, with no double fail in one course, at the time of applying for transfer;
  • be currently enrolled in an RMIT Master’s program: students can apply in the  first semester of your master program, as you have already completed 4 courses in the Graduate Certificate program.
