To help students prepare properly for working in an industry of their own choice, the Bachelor of IT program is designed to be flexible.

To complete the Bachelor of IT program, all students study twenty four courses in total, including:

  • IT core course
  • Major courses
  • IT electives or courses as part of a Minor
  • General electives
  • Internship program
  • The “majors” currently available are Application Programming and Multimedia Design. Other majors are planned to be offered.

     

    Furthermore, IT students study either four additional IT electives, or choose a minor study stream, which comprises four business courses.

    At the end of the program, students undertake a one-semester internship. During the internship, students work for an IT company to gain real-life experience.

     

    General electives

    Elective courses allow you to pursue particular areas of interest, or to explore new areas. You may study four courses from the wide range of courses offered across the University, including courses offered from other RMIT degree programs.
