Program overview

Studying the Bachelor of Commerce program provides a broad business - based education designed to meet the needs of the international world of business. Whether you seek a future in a big corporation or a role within a non - profit or charitable organisation, a Commerce degree gives you the knowl- edge and skills to succeed.

The Bachelor of Commerce program also provides students with the opportunity to focus their studies towards personal

interests and capabilities.  From a foundation of core courses that include business and information technology, students are able to select from a range of electives that enable them to define their interests and career path.

 

A unique feature of RMIT degree programs is the opportunity to work closely with real companies. This gives first-hand experience and enables our students to see the application of theory in practical situations. It also helps students gain a greater understanding of how companies and businesses operate. This connection with industry also enables RMIT Vietnam to ensure that its programs meet the dynamic nature of business as well as providing networking opportunities for our graduates.

With the knowledge and skills provided through the Bachelor of Commerce program our students aspire to be the next business leaders fully equipped to address the emerging demands and complexities of the business environment and the broader community.

Career prospects

Bachelor of Commerce graduates are highly successful in obtaining full-time employment. In 2010, 90% of graduates were in full-time employment in the first 3 months after graduating and 5% had started their own business.

Opportunities exist in a wide range of industries as well as small to large sized companies. Demand for RMIT graduates is extremely high with employers recog- nising the business acumen of the students as well as their high levels of communication and collaboration skills. As many as 85% of RMIT students were approached with full-time job offers during their internship in 2010.

 

Teaching methods and assessment

Teaching methods include face-to-face delivery, tutorials, classes, workshops and other industry seminars.

Students’ achievement in the program is measured by methods including assignments, research, case study analysis, group presentations and examinations.
